Biogas Upgrading

Doosan Enpure offer both consultancy only design services and full EPC delivery (UK only) of non water sector organic materials anaerobic digestion infrastructure development.

Traditionally biogas generated from anaerobic digestion facilities as been consumed in combined heat and power gas engines to recover renewable electricity. Typically 40% efficient CHP engines lose the lion’s share of energy as waste heat and mechanical energy thereby not making the most of the available resource.

Doosan Enpure can provide, now tried and tested, technologies to purify biogas to a quality suitable for injection in to the national gas grid, or for use as vehicle fuels. These processes remove carbon dioxide and other trace elements to provide an almost 100% pure biomethene.

These processes benefit developers and operators by maximizing the available energy utilisation, and also by benefiting from Government green energy subsidy from the Renewable Heat Incentive.

Biogas Upgrading

The Vasteras anaerobic digestion plant opened in 2005. Biocrops and source segregated food wastes are digested producing a biogas which is then upgraded via a water scrubbing technology to produce biomethane. Containerised biomethane is then shipped to nearby Stockholm where local buses and cars utilise this green fuel.
